About lay-a-brick
A place for everyone who builds with building bricks – no matter which manufacturer the bricks come from.
The idea
Between a pile of bricks and a finished model lies the plan. lay-a-brick makes that plan easy: you build in the browser, the building instructions create themselves, and others can build your model or develop it further.
What matters to us
- Easy to start. No download, no account, no prior knowledge. Your first brick is down in seconds.
- Free and without ads. lay-a-brick is not funded by advertising or data.
- Privacy first. No tracking cookies, no analytics services, no third-party content. Accounts are optional and can be deleted completely at any time.
- Independent. lay-a-brick has no connection to any manufacturer of building bricks and does not name other brands.
- Open to remixes. Published models are licensed under CC BY 4.0. If you build on them, you credit the original.
Who is behind it
lay-a-brick is developed and run by Max Hößbacher in Leidersbach (Lower Franconia, Germany). The site runs on servers in Germany.
