Mosaic & Art

Mosaics, pixel pictures, lettering, patterns and small sculptures: these are models made to be looked at rather than played with. A mosaic is the simplest model of all, one layer of 1×1 plates on a baseplate, each plate one pixel. The pixel heart and the mosaic sun from the examples show how far that goes. The instructions show the picture row by row, and the parts list gives the count per colour.

Squared paper helps with the design, or go straight to the editor: draw the outline first, then fill the areas. A darker edge on one side and a light dot as a highlight give a flat picture depth. Round plates soften hard edges, tiles create smooth areas between the studs. Larger pictures go on several baseplates side by side. Finished mosaics can be published as a remix in other colours or sizes.
